We Gather to Learn
Christian education touches the lives of all children, youth and adults at UUMC. Opportunities to grow in our faith, our understanding of the Bible and ways to connect our faith to what is happening in our world are all part of learning at University UMC.
"I love that this church allows each person to understand the love of God and Christ at their own pace."
Sunday Learning Schedule
8:45 a.m. Breakfast in the dining room
9:00 a.m. Inter-generational Gathering
9:15 a.m. Sunday School for all ages
Children's Learning Groups: Classes for three-year-olds through 5th grade focus on Bible stories and the opportunity to respond to those stories in child-friendly ways.
"UUMC helps children speak of their faith early on...even 3-year-olds respond to the Bible stories. The children's' questions often amaze and always touch me."
Youth Learning Groups: Youth Sunday morning groups are perhaps the most "real" place on earth. The topics are honest, the conversation open and the language of God ever present.
"It doesn't seem like a big deal, but as a youth it's amazing that I get up on Sunday morning because I WANT to come to Sunday School."
Adult Learning Groups
Groups focus on Bible stories, contemporary issues, faith questions and seasonal focus, but at their core each of them are about people who care for each other, care about justice, ache for peace and want to better understand what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
"No judgment, no hostility, just open conversation and honest sharing."
